| What is KMIS? |
|
Malaria continues to pose a major public health threat to most of Kenya’s population. In recognition of the importance of malaria as an impediment to development, the Ministry of Health (Government of Kenya), has launched a new co-ordinated effort to support malaria prevention and control across the country.
Information is critical for effective planning of control or research at national and district levels. The Division of Malaria Control, Ministry of Health has developed this web-enabled information tool for partners in the Government’s efforts to Roll Back Malaria (RBM) in Kenya.
KMIS has been used as a vehicle to capture available sources of information necessary for national and district-level decision-makers. These data are not always derived from internationally, peer-reviewed publications. As such we can make no claim as to the accuracy of the original reports. Given the dynamic nature of partnerships in disease control at national and district levels the operations of organisations and donor support to at the district-level will change. We will endeavour to update the databases every 6 months as new or corrected information becomes available.
Meanwhile we hope this tool will assist partners in their co-ordinated response to support RBM in Kenya and allow greater access to evidence for informed planning.
